Mommy question

To all those mommies out there:

Is a rocker-glider something I can't live without or totally unnecessary??  Let me know what you think.

neither. i love ours, but only sit in it at night. just get some comfy chair that you can rest your weary body in to hold your little one. not necessary, but definitely fun.

We had a rocker/recliner that was great for me. The positive thing was I could feed my baby, then just kick back and nap with her. That was also a negative because I could have put her down for a nap and got some things done once in awhile. It was such a comfortable chair. Used it all the time - I miss that chair. That probably didn't help, huh?

A rocker/glider isn't something you must have, but it's not bad to have around. I would say that don't break the bank to buy one--the diapers alone will do that. But if you can get one as a present or a used one for under $100, then go for it. You never know what your baby will like until he/she arrives and you try it.

Oops, I left the last comment that was marked anonymous. I'm new to blogging.

Can I answer this as a Daddy? I love our glider. It has an automan (the foot rest thing... how do you spell that?) that glides too. It's amazing. We got it online from costco and I don't remember how much it was but it was worth every penny.

you just need some kind of rocker, whatever it is. doesn't have to be a glider. we have a glider in the nursery and use the recliner-that's-also-a-rocker in the living room too. oh, and we just got the glider they carry at walmart, which is MUCH cheaper than the rest.

oh, the walmart one was around $80, and i think we got it for even less because it was on sale.

Can I just say -- CRAIGSLIST?? We got a great one for $75. We got a ton of stuff off of Craigslist. Love it!

I think a glider-rocker was the best choice for us. I almost ditched the idea before I had Caitlyn, but glad I didn't...a glider takes little to no effort to make it move, and this is important for both yours and baby's comfort. I think it's very soothing for both parties!! I've spent countless hours in the rocker feeding the kids and comforting them. (Marty too!) We still use ours to read to Jake at bedtime.

From a Papa's perspective, I couldn't do without one. And I think the baby might like it too! By the way, we have one that we are borrowing. If you need it, let me know.

I've never had one, and have survived with my four kids (so far :) ), so I don't think you HAVE to have one.

That being said, in some ways I wish I'd had one, but mostly to rock my boys in, as it's great for cuddling and building attachment/bonding.

SO SO SO excited for you guys!
